Base station transceiver system (or Node B). This provides the primary communications to the subscriber’s handset.


This is for the older 2G or 3G standards and they usually required one or two cabinets per technology (e.g., GSM, EDGE, UMTS, HSPA). Contains baseband processing units for each sector and power amplifiers.
